When Salar de Uyuni was flooded, we were already planting rice. It is very difficult to find the right timing.

May 25, 2024

As it was late May, I took my first bird's-eye view from Futanuma Forest Park in the hope that the rice paddies in the Aizu Basin would be flooded by now.
The gates of Futanuma Forest Park open at 8:30 a.m., so we will be shooting near there.

Passed at 8:11, downbound for Aizu Kawaguchi
Single train bound for Wakamatsu passing at 8:30 a.m. from the rice paddies near Nizuru

After the gates opened, the first thing I did was to photograph the three Kiha 110s of the morning's temporary "Enjoyment Go," but the image was still not very good due to poor weather and atmospheric turbulence.

Shinryoki-go Takada-Negishi 10:17 a.m.
10:41 Aizu Takada - Negishi

As is common in the photo above, shadows are projected on the countryside when clouds appear, even when the sky is clear.

Passage at 14’09 Aizu Takada - Negishi, approx. 40 min. delay for Koide under

In the afternoon, the whole area is flat with blue sky, but the train is not as clear as it should be due to atmospheric fluctuations. This is also typical of the lid swamp.

Passage at 14:36 Negishi - Takada, 40 min. delay

If you look closely, there are still fluctuations.

Passing through at 15:43, the 15-minute delay of the "Full Enjoyment" train bound for Wakamatsu.
Pulled image of the same train. You can clearly see that the atmospheric conditions have improved and there are no clouds

The train will be just before the closing gate. Sometimes the Forest Park superintendent will let you take pictures, sometimes not.

As expected, after this train passed, the manager of Futanuma told us that it was time to close the gates.

First, a standard photo of a downbound train at Irihirose.

I went from Uonuma to the Aizu side via Route 252. The car was changed from RWD to FWD, and the crossing over the Rokujyuri River was awkward. Today was a windy operation day, so I followed the bridge from the Kanotsu side to Futanuma.

And the last train to Koide from Futanuma.

Emperor's Birthday (national holiday held from 1868 to 1948)

This time I stayed at the "Business Hotel Sun Road Bange" in Aizu Sakashita.
There was a Seven within walking distance, and a Riondor, the standard supermarket in Fukushima.
